Languishing or Flourishing?

It's been more than a year that we have been living in a new and often challenging world. The good news it that we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We may be feeling hopeful and optimistic, and yet at the same time stuck in patterns and habits that aren't emotionally or physically healthy.  In the recent New York Times article, "There’s a Name for the Blah You’re Feeling: It’s Called Languishing" the author does a great job describing these mixed emotions.

He also provides some tips for how to move from "languishing" back to "flourishing":

  1. Name what you are feeling. Psychologists find one of the best strategies for managing emotions is to name them.

  2. Find some flow. Immerse yourself without distractions into something you really love.

  3. Set boundaries with your time.

  4. Focus on small goals.

Before things really start picking back up, let's take the time to check in with ourselves and our children.  Are we languishing or flourishing?
